Apache Tears are Obsidian nodules (Volcanic Glass) that have formed by a volcanic eruption.
These Apache Tear have been carefully tumbled and polished by me personally. They are semi-transparent. Apache Tears are good for emotional protection, cleansing & healing, like working through grief.

The Story:
As the story goes 75 brave Apache warriors were camped on a mountain when attacked by U.S. Cavalry. Realizing that they had nowhere to go, the remaining warriors chose to leap to their death, rather than to die at the hands of the white man.
When the women and children discovered their beloved husbands, fathers, and sons dead at the bottom of the cliff, they began to weep. As their
tears fell, black stones were formed on the white, sandy earth for every tear that hit the ground.
These are “Apache Tears”.
Legend has it that anyone who has an Apache Tear, should never need to cry again... because the Apache women cried enough tears for all who mourn. Some believe that the stones themselves carry spiritual and healing powers.
Protection:
Generally, all Obsidian protects the wearer from hostility, negativity, psychic ‘vampires’ and spiritual entities that do not belong. It offers release from tension and enables one to move forward in his/her life, with a more promising outlook.
Apache Tears can protect one when traveling, especially at night. Place on your desk to keep demanding co-workers at bay and guard against hostility. Apache Tears can be given to children who’ve been traumatized – let them hold one up to a light source so that they may see that ‘there is light’ out there, and all is not dark.
Physically, Obsidian often points to the root cause of an illness. It clears the blockages that cause disease. Use Obsidian for detoxifying, alleviating bleeding, increasing blood circulation, and helping with the pain associated with arthritis and other joint discomforts. Use Apache Tears to help with deficiencies of Vitamins D and C, muscle spasms, and knee discomfort.
Origen:
Apache tears originate from siliceous lava flows, lava domes, or ash-flow tuffs, often in close association with or embedded in, gray perlite. The spherules occur as cores within perlite masses that typically exhibit texture of concentrically curved, onion-skin fractures. The formation is apparently related to differential cooling and various alkali and water contents. Excessive water present during cooling and quenching of rhyolitic lava causes obsidian to hydrate (i.e., water entering the obsidian glass converts it to perlite). Where perlite is incompletely hydrated, fresh obsidian cores remain as pebbles of marekanite or Apache tears; this origin has been occasionally described in the geologic literature.
